A sneak peek at the new abode

We're moving, we're moving!

We hope you will come visit us soon, especially if you have hammers, paint brushes and fix-it skills in tow! Okay really, we don't expect you to come work... we will throw a big house warming bash when we get this place looking snazzy! Here is are some pictures for your sneak peek. Just keep in mind these are pictures from the listing, so the "bad" is defintiely not highlighted. I doubt the forest green tiled master bath would have enticed too many lookers, or the bread printed tile backsplash in the kitchen, or the bare painted wood stairs, or "creative" crown molding jobs in some of the rooms. I guess they couldn't hide the really funky green exterior paint color though. Oh, but the Hamilton's are not scared! We have vision (and I have a really handy husband with lots of talented friends).

Stay tuned for some before and after shots!

Obedience = Blessing

On my birthday I like to do a little reflecting over the past year.... and this would be the day! And let me tell you from 28 to 29 has markedly been the most amazing year of my life... The Lord blessed me with an amazing 2007!! The theme: Obedience = Blessing

In 2006 I had been convicted about a major sin in my life and my heart and life were transformed by being obedient in that area. Obedience = fulfillment of promise. 1 month after turning 28 and almost exactly 1 year after my revelation and commencement of my obedience to what God set on my heart, God delivered me Matthew. A greater gift than I could have ever imagined in a future husband.

2007 significant Obedience #2 came in our courtship, obedience to God's word and boundaries. And again obedience = fulfillment of promise. A blessed marriage (1.19.08). So much could be said, but BLESSED is sufficient.

Significant Obedience #3 came with finances and giving. Feel called to give, let it go, it is not yours anyway. Again, Obedience = fulfillment of promise. Financial blessing seemed to pour our way as we prepared for a wedding, my relocation and a new stage of life. The awesomeness of these blessings was not only in that they came our way, but always in specifically perfect timing and most often in exact amounts of need!

Obedience #4, a call to fast. The Sunday after we partook of a ton of food over the Thanksgiving holiday Matthew had a call to fast for a few things in particular. One being the sale of my house. At this point the house had been on the market for about 5-6 weeks, shown 3 times, no offers. We fasted for 5 days, ending on Friday. Saturday we had an offer on the house, if fell through. A test of faith. Obedience = fulfillment of promise. Wednesday we had a legitimate offer and a signed contract on Friday, one week after the conclusion of our fast. Coincidence? I know not! We closed two weeks before the wedding.
Obedience = Blessing.
Surrender. Give. Enough said.

Ace in the Hole (or first post)

Here we are, "back at the Hamilton Ranch." Okay, okay.... we do not live on a ranch, in fact far cry from ranch living here. So we could stick the broom out of the side window and touch the neighbor's house!?! Good neighbors they are though! But on a blog we can pretend, set on our minds on where Matthew and I truly desire to be, and hopefully will be soon, a place where the street lights don't drown out the brillance of the stars and the kids don't have to worry about picking up poop before they can safely roam the place. The oh, 500 plus or minus square feet currently within our fence is like a minefield.

So here's to the Hamilton family blog, the goings on of Pa, step-Ma, two little rugrats, a couple cooped up dogs and a cat that is almost man!
